About climate
The resort Hisar is located on the moderate continental climate part of Bulgaria. It is protected from the northern winds by two mountain chains – Stara Planina (Ancient Mountain) and Sredna Gora (Middle Forrest). On its southern part, the city is open to the sun of Thracia. The air is crystal clear throughout the seasons due to the closely located large forests and mountain slopes. The sunny days throughout the year are more than 280. The winter is mild with average temperature of 2 C. The snow days are 27 altogether and the snow cover is about 5cm. The summer is long and delightful. During summer the humidity is low and the average temperature is 22 C. Springs and autumns are warm and mild. Fogs can rarely appear – from 11 to 14 days yearly. Rains are moderate.
Hisar is an ecologically pure city since there are no industrial enterprises neither in the city nor in its neighboring villages. It is surrounded by broad-leaved forests.
These climate and geographical peculiarities make Hisar a wonderful and attractive resort for rest and recreation throughout the year of national as well as of international significance.
